National League of Cities (NLC): Sustaining the Work – Strategically Leveraging Opioid Settlement Funds

The National League of Cities (NLC) is hosting Sustaining the Work: Strategically Leveraging Opioid Settlement Funds on Thursday, June 25^th, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

This is the second session of the Health and Wellbeing Capacity Building Series: From Vision to Action. This five-session learning experience is designed to help cities strengthen their ability to advance community wellbeing through clear frameworks, actionable policy tools, meaningful data, sustainable resources, and creative processes grounded in arts and culture to amplify impact. Sustainable change requires durable resources. This session focuses on how cities can align opioid settlement funds with their broader wellbeing and systems-change goals to maximize long-term impact. This session represents a critical turning point, where cities move from planning and analysis to making real investment decisions. In partnership with the Big Cities Health Coalition, participants will explore how to assess local needs, prioritize evidence-based strategies, and make investment decisions that support long-term impact, strengthen behavioral health systems, and advance equity.
