REMI: Economic Impact of Data Centers
REMI is hosting a webinar on the Economic Impact of Data Centers on Tuesday, June 23rd, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
The growing demand for data centers has transformed data processing, making it increasingly important to understand the impacts of private data center investments on local economies. Through construction and operation, these centers generate economic activity, long-term employment opportunities, and infrastructure development. Quantifying these impacts provides valuable information for planners, policymakers, utilities, and economic developers when evaluating the construction and expansion of these facilities. The presentation will be led by Dr. Alex Gebben and Bailey Kirkland, researchers at the Center for Business and Economic Analysis at the University of Wyoming. In this webinar, Dr. Alex Gebben and Bailey Kirkland will evaluate the impact of these data centers on employment, GDP, income, population, and other economic indicators. Attendees will learn about the effects of expanding data centers and what that means for the economy.
