MISSION

Atlanta CareerRise, a regional funders collaborative, increases regional prosperity by creating and strengthening partnerships and systems that meet employer needs for skilled talent and connect metro Atlanta residents to sustainable wage careers. Founded and managed by the United Way of Greater Atlanta with investments from the National Fund for Workforce Solutions and numerous local funding partners, it is one of 32 regional funding collaboratives in the U.S. implementing innovative employer-driven approaches to improving skills, systems and jobs in our communities.

Atlanta CareerRise focuses on building robust and sustained relationships with employers in sectors that project strong growth, an abundance of entry and mid-level jobs, and career ladders, and utilize these demand-driven partnerships to facilitate change in workforce development capacity, practices and policies to better serve underemployed individuals. Career Rise has three primary objectives:

1) Support employer-driven sector partnerships to advance the underemployed to sustainable wage career pathways;

2) Provide technical assistance to build the capacity of local providers to effectively serve and advance underprepared individuals; and

3) Increase public awareness and advocacy for organizations as part of the workforce system serving underprepared individuals.

Atlanta CareerRise also partners with WorkSource Metro Atlanta to manage regional sector partnerships in healthcare, information technology, and transportation, distribution and logistics.
