Easterseals Middle Georgia

MISSION

Our mission is to provide services to help children and adults with disabilities and/or special needs as well as support to their families. We’ve been helping families for nearly 100 years. Today, Easterseals assists more than one million individuals and their families annually at more than 550 Easterseals service sites across the country. Each center provides top-quality, innovative services tailored to meet the specific needs of the people we serve.

Easterseals Middle Georgia began as Easterseals Vocational Development Center in Dublin, Georgia, in 1976. It started with more volunteers than staff and clientele put together. A small federal program (CETA) subsidizing the employment training of people with disabilities, as well as support from Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, was its main support.

Lucky to serve a half-dozen people at a time in the beginning, Easterseals Middle Georgia at any given time now, may have 150 sheltered employees, over 50 people in work adjustment training, in-house or in the community. A few more served in work evaluation or vocational evaluation.
